Threeways School visit to Whatley quarry with Earth Science Centre
We recently had the pleasure of hosting students from the Threeways School in Bath, a community school for young people with special educational needs.
We are delighted to see that a project we contributed to at All Saints’ Church, Nunney, has culminated with the renovation, augmentation and re-installation of the church bells to the tower.
Proposals to reopen Westdown quarry – public drop-in session
Local residents were able to review our plans to update the existing conditions for Westdown quarry at a public drop-in session held at our Whatley quarry offices.
Two new fuel-efficient CAT 777G dumper trucks have been commissioned at Whatley – the first of five to arrive as part of our £10 million plant upgrade.

Whatley opens its doors for biodiversity competition
Whatley quarry is among the sites participating in the fifth round of our biodiversity competition, the Quarry Life Award. Westdown quarry, Asham Wood and Vallis Vale are also open to potential projects.
The pupils of Mells Church of England First School in Mells, Somerset, have a new look classroom thanks to the installation of a £2,900 interactive whiteboard, funded by Whatley.
Wellbeing is a key priority at Whatley and we are extending our association with Frome and District Angling Association (FADAA) to open up more of the river frontage we own locally for angling.
Our Whatley team is working in partnership with several organisations to help manage the impact of ash die back disease (ADB) across our landholding in the East Mendips.
