Remembrance poppy shines at Batts Combe quarry

A poppy is shining brightly at Batts Combe quarry to mark Remembrance Day and the centenary year of the Poppy Appeal. 

The giant poppy, illuminated at night, is visible for many miles and has been warmly received by local people. 

Unit manager Simon Parkes said: “In addition to our own fundraising on site, we wanted to acknowledge our support for the sacrifice of our Armed Forces community.”
