With ground preparation work for the approved extension to Craig-yr-Hesg quarry getting underway, we held a drop-in session to provide the local community with more information.
The event on 11 June at Glyncoch Community Centre, was attended by over 70 local residents, who were able to put their questions to members of our quarry management team as well as traffic, environment, air quality and blasting specialists.
Extensive information on the regulatory regime and inhouse measures in place to mitigate the impacts of our operations were available. These are now available to download in English and in Welsh.
We also set out plans to further develop dialogue with the local community by setting up a new community liaison group with representatives from the local community, local elected representatives and relevant council officers. Residents keen to represent their community were asked to contact with us at: craigyrhesgquarry@uk.heidelbergmaterials.com
