Drainage repairs for Machen village car park
The team from our Machen quarry in Caerphilly, south Wales, recently assisted Machen Recreation Welfare Association with essential repairs to the village car park, after collapsed drains were causing flooding and drainage issues.
The local charity, which is funded entirely by donations, grants and contributions from clubs and schools, maintains the sport and recreation grounds in Machen, providing sports facilities for football, rugby, cricket, and bowls clubs, as well as for public use.
Three members of our team, organised by Quantity Surveyor Anthony Davies, completed the repairs by raising the road gullies and reinstating the drain covers, ensuring the car park is now safe for the community to use.
The Machen Recreation Welfare Association extended its thanks to the Machen quarry team for their swift action, highlighting how these repairs will keep recreation grounds accessible for local residents.
