Relocation of quarry exit road
A new exit road has been created at Craig-yr-Hesg quarry to improve safety.
The former exit road was giving rise to safety concerns due to its shared use with a small number of local residents. After considering various options to overcome the potential risks it was decided to close the exit road permanently – except for emergency use.
Instead, the entrance road at the opposite end of the site has been widened to create a new single entry/exit access point close to Rogart Terrace.
This £1 million project includes a living green retaining wall and landscaping works, with improved dust suppression and drainage arrangements.
