Council thanks for caring crew

A hospice has a new access road to Silo boosts storage its fundraising field, thanks to a team that included a contracting surfacing crew.

Heidelberg Materials also donated 14 tonnes of asphalt and 14 tonnes of aggregate for the road at the Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester. 

David Walker said they were pleased to support Dorset Highways’ “on the job” staff volunteering day.

“The work took one shift by the crew, which was led by Dave King, with the materials coming from Whatley quarry,” said David, liaison manager for the road maintenance partnership between Dorset County Council and contracting.
