Whatley quarry decks the halls with Christmas tree donation to Friends of Whatley
In the spirit of the season, Whatley quarry has donated a 10ft Christmas tree and string lights to local community group, Friends of Whatley for use in its Christmas celebrations at St George’s church.
As part of the celebrations, children and young people were invited to take part in an arts and crafts afternoon, where they decorated the tree with handmade ornaments and sparkly lights.
Alice Kettle, Secretary of Friends of Whatley, said: “We’re so pleased with the tree, and grateful for the lights that we can use for many subsequent years.”
The tree will be on display throughout the festive season, including at the Christmas carol service, held at the church on Sunday 22 December.
“We’re thrilled to contribute to this year’s festivities,” said Vincent Pitt, Area General Manager. “It’s great to see the community join together for the celebrations.”
